SENIOR KITCHEN CREW

El Union Cooks are team players. They are well-versed in food preparation techniques, passionately executing dishes with consistency and discipline. They work efficiently in managing high volumes of orders, maintaining their stations, and meeting the expectations of customers.

The Senior Kitchen Crew displays mastery in technique and knowledge to properly cook and prepare the El Union food menu. They are experts in the general operating protocols in the kitchen and are able to facilitate these effectively pre-, during and post-service. The Senior Kitchen crew is creative and adaptable, able to solve problems in the kitchen and build a resilient and fun work environment for their team.

Responsibilities

The Senior Kitchen Staff has the following responsibilities

  • Custodian of all recipes of the El Union food menu
  • Prepares customer orders that adhere to standards in quality, consistency, presentation and overall service efficiency
  • Expedites orders during service
  • Knowledgeable in operating and maintaining all equipment and tools in the kitchen, including proper storage of perishable and non-perishable goods
  • Facilitates opening and/or closing procedures and protocols
  • Assists the Retail Manager in plotting the weekly manpower schedule
  • Effectively manages inventory of supplies through proper monitoring and ensures healthy level of supplies at all times by anticipating restock timelines
  • In charge of daily family meals that are plotted on weekly basis, ingredients of which must be within budget and purchased in a timely manner
  • Mentors and coaches junior staff on kitchen service standards, processes and procedures, providing timely feedback and motivation for upskilling
  • Establishes team camaraderie in the kitchen
  • Upholds food safety and sanitation standards within the station
  • Recommends improvements by keeping abreast of relevant trends and practices in the industry
  • Contributes to menu development, develops techniques to utilize localized ingredients and minimize food waste
  • Ambassadorship of the El Union brand
  • Attends trainings and meetings as needed
  • Other tasks that may be assigned based on the role

Qualifications:

2 years experience in food service

At least 6 months formal training in food preparation (or equivalent)
