El Union baristas push the envelope in coffee and service experiences. Through passion and demonstrated expertise, they produce great quality beverages and are known to have a heart for people, providing exceptional service and creating a welcoming environment for all who come through the shop.

The Barista champions standards and techniques to serve high quality coffee in a fast-paced environment. They are highly knowledgeable about all El Union products and are comfortable making standard and custom drinks. Passionate in equal parts about coffee, service, and the brand, the Barista is able to create an authentic El Union-branded experience for customers.

Responsibilities

The Barista has the following responsibilities

  • Utilizes techniques, knowledge, methods and processes to prepare and serve high quality El Union drinks in a timely fashion (i.e. latte art, brewing and extraction, calibration, milk steaming, roasts, etc.)
  • Provides excellent service levels to ensure customer satisfaction, accurately taking orders and treating each customer with respect and enthusiasm
  • Respectfully addresses basic customer concerns or queries
  • Adheres to opening and/or closing procedures and protocols
  • Applies regular troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment and tools in the beverage station, and maintains cleanliness and organization on the counter
  • Accomplishes timely inventory and sales reporting
  • Upholds food safety and sanitation standards within the station
  • Recommends improvements by keeping abreast of relevant trends and practices in the industry
  • Actively builds the camaraderie in the team with their personal cultural contribution
  • Ambassadorship of the El Union brand
  • Attends trainings and meetings as needed
  • Other tasks that may be assigned based on the role

Qualifications:

Previous experience in beverage or food service

Basic knowledge in coffee brewing
